Everything Costs Somebody Something

Everything Costs Somebody Something

What are you willing to pay?

Starbucks is my vise.

Really my vise would be any great coffee if Northern Nevada had good coffee, but alas, Starbucks meets my caffeinated junkie fix.

What it doesn’t serve is my wallet.

$11.45 for two coffees. Sure mine had chocolate and my wife’s with extra cream… but seriously? For coffee? Continue Reading…

Give me the ball!

We generally call wide receivers selfish for their consistent call to be a part of the action. Society looks at them as though they are arrogant because most wide receivers feel they can make a play happen when no one else can.

While I don’t like the displays of character that happen at times, I would love for our churches to be filled with people calling on the ball to be thrown their way. People that know we can count on them to facilitate God working through them. Continue Reading…

Becoming Traders: The World Needs Traders

A few days ago I asked you to watch a video called Are You a Trader.

Watching this video stirred a couple questions in me.

  1. Why should we become traders?
  2. How do I live a life of a trader?

Why should we become traders?

Almost as soon as the question is asked in my mind, I’m struck with the answer: It’s not about you, me, or Miss Agnus who sits in the third row, fourth seat from the aisle on the right in the sanctuary. Continue Reading…

Becoming Traders

[This post is part of the Becoming Traders series. You should also check out: The World Needs Traders and How to Live a Trader's Life]

I came across this video and I thought I’d share it.

It stirred up some great thoughts for me:

  1. The World Needs Traders.
  2. How to Live a Trader’s Life.

My favorite line in the video?

Where you live doesn’t make you a missionary. The mission you are on, makes you a missionary.

Although brief, this video lays out a challenge to every believer, to every person that hearts their church, will you become a trader?

What resonates with you from the video? Are you a trader? Share your experience with a comment on this post.
